GENERAL INFORMATION

  • Croix Gear is located in Hudson, WI just outside of the Minneapolis/St. Paul metro area in the beautiful St. Croix River Valley.

 

CAPABILITIES

  • Spiral bevels, straight bevels, hypoid gears, (super reduction hypoid (SRH) to come), herringbone gears, double helical gears, clutches, Zerol bevels, helical gears, parallel axis gears, spur gears, worm and worm wheels, splines (internal/external), couplings, curvic couplings, shafts, and sprockets.

  • We have extensive experience in a vast array of gears and also have the equipment and experience to take on new projects. Please contact us to discuss your specific needs.

  • We use a variety of highly qualified, certified outside heat treating suppliers. All our suppliers are approved to our ISO certification and received regular audits and scorecards.

  • We source heat treating based on the requirements of your project to the best resource from our approved list of highly qualified outside heat treating suppliers. All our suppliers are approved to our ISO certification and received regular audits and scorecards.

  • Our 60,000-square-foot manufacturing facility boasts a vast array of the latest in high-performance, precision cutting, milling, hobbing, shaping, drilling, and honing equipment. Please contact us for our complete equipment list.

  • We produce lot sizes of 5 pieces or more.

 

QUALITY & CERTIFICATIONS

  • Croix Gear operations are certified to ISO 9001:2105

  • Croix Gear maintains an excellent external PPM with a "0" PPM with our largest customers.

  • Croix Gear operations are certified to ISO 9001:2015 and have the exacting capabilities for aerospace work. We are in process of completing Aerospace AS9100 certification.

  • Croix Gear & Machining is in conformance with ISO 9001:2015 and maintains rigorous quality control for each project from beginning to end. Our process includes quality assessments at interim stages throughout the manufacturing life-cycle to assure gears and parts meet precise repeatability in your assembly process.

  • Our state-of-the-art inspection equipment includes Gleason 300 GMS, SIGMA V3 CNC Gear Inspection Systems, and Brown & Sharpe ONE CMM Coordinate Measuring Machine, along with a number of other inspection and testing equipment. Contact us for a full list of inspection equipment.

  • Yes, we will work with customers to complete the required documentation.

 

MATERIALS

  • We produce gears and parts made from steel, bronze, aluminum, stainless steel, plastics, fiber, bakelite, and more.

  • Yes, our experienced engineering and operations team can provide material recommendations based on the requirements of your gears.

  • We source materials from certified, highly-qualified material suppliers from the USA and Canada.

 

PRICING

  • Many factors impact gear costs including quantity, material, type of gear, classification of the gear, process requirements, and size.

  • It is our goal to provide quotes within 24-hours. Because of the custom nature of each order, quotes that require information from outside vendors and suppliers may require additional time.

  • We often can provide you with a ballpark estimate when you provide us with specific gear criteria including a detailed print. Contact us to discuss.

  • Many gears will require tooling that is made in-house. Cutters are both purchased and rented, depending on the job needs.

 

LEAD TIME

  • We work with our clients to meet required lead-times. Based on the unique nature of each project the following factors will impact lead times; current capacity, details of the parts, necessary processes to create, material availability, vendor lead-time, tooling and cutting requirements, and lot sizes. Please talk with us to discuss your requirements.

  • Lead time is based on the ship date from our dock.

  • We understand the importance that lead times have on our customers’ business and collaborate with you to find solutions to lead time constraints. We continually work to have the fastest delivery lead times in the industry.

  • We are always willing to investigate solutions with customers, it would depend on the compatibility of tooling and cutters.

  • We are always willing to investigate solutions with customers to improve lead times, it would depend if the materials meet the specifications to meet your expectations for the part.

  • We are willing to split orders to improve lead times. Additional set-up costs may apply. Contact us to discuss this option.

 

FREIGHT

  • Your freight will be based on the size and weight of your shipment. Croix Gear works with a variety of carriers to meet your specific requirements.

  • Several of our parcel and freight carriers do offer expedited shipping options.

 

OTHER

  • Yes, our experienced engineering and operations team can provide design recommendations based on the requirements of your gears.

  • If you are able to provide a detailed print, we may be able to help with a replacement gear. We do have a minimum order of 5 pieces.
